Walkshops

Our recent infrastructure tour welcomed participants from KWB’s partner network, including representatives from water utilities in Lausanne and Lyon, all with a keen interest in asset management of water and sanitation infrastructure. The tour was tailored to provide insights into Berlin’s unique "underground urbanism," examining how the city's network of piped infrastructures evolved, particularly after the devastations of the Second World War, and to assess the challenges and legacies of these systems today.

At each site, we focused on the layers of history and the complexities underlying Berlin’s water and energy infrastructure.
